Sai Sudarshan and his family have an old connection with the game

Sudarshan's father was a national-level athlete who represented India at the South Asian Games in 1993, while his mother was a state-level volleyball player. Sudarshan started playing cricket at a very young age and came into the limelight by scoring 2019 runs for Alwarpet CC in 20-635 of the Palayampatti Shield. In 2021, he made his T20 debut for Tamil Nadu in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Left-handed batsman Sai Sudarshan made his List A debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and managed to make his place and his consistent performances earned him a place in the Tamil Nadu Premier League. With 143 runs in 77 innings with a strike rate of 8.358, he was the second highest run-scorer in the TNPL and played a key role in taking The Lyca Kowal Kings to the knockout stages.

In the year 2022, he was selected by GT in the IPL auction and made his debut against Punjab Kings. However, his impact was such that the Lyca Kowal Kings paid a record Rs 5.165 lakh for his services in the TNPL auction for the first time before the 2023 season.
