Metalist became the second club to be relegated from the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) at the end of the 2022/23 season.

- The places of Lviv and Metalist in the next UPL draw will be taken by the two best clubs of the First League (Obolon Kyiv and Polissia Zhytomyr).
- The third and fourth places of the First League (LNZ Cherkasy and FC Metalurh Zaporizhzhia) will play in the play-offs for entering the elite division against the teams that finish in 14th and 13th positions this season of the UPL, respectively.
