Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina reached the semifinals of the clay tournament of the WTA 250 series in Strasbourg (France).

In the match of the 1/4 final, Svitolina defeated Russian Varvara Gracheva. The Ukrainian confidently dealt with an athlete from a terrorist country in two sets – 6:3, 6:4.

The fight lasted one hour and 23 minutes. During this time, Svitolina served twice, did not make double mistakes and used 4/5 break points.

In the semifinals, the rival of the Ukrainian tennis player will be Frenchwoman Clara Burel. The game will take place on Friday, May 26.

We add that in the first round Svitolina defeated the American Luisa Chirico with a score of 6:4, 7:6. In the second round, the opponent of the Ukrainian Erin Routliffe from New Zealand withdrew from the match due to injury, so Elina automatically made it to the quarterfinals.

It should be noted that Svitolina for the second time after the resumption of her career reached the semifinals of the tennis tournament. She previously reached this stage at the WTA 125 competition in Saint-Malo, France.

Elina made it to the semifinals at WTA 250 tournaments for the first time since August 2021. Then the Ukrainian triumphed at competitions in Chicago.
