Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina reached the quarterfinals of the clay tournament of the WTA 250 series in Strasbourg (France).
In the 1/8 finals, the Ukrainian was supposed to play against Erin Routliffe from New Zealand. However, the opponent of the Ukrainian decided to withdraw from the tournament before the match.
According to organizers, the New Zealander suffered an abdominal injury and finished her performances at the tournament early.
We add that in the first round the Ukrainian defeated the American Louise Chirico with a score of 6:4, 7:6.
In the 1/4 final, Elina will play with the winner of the match between Russian Varvara Gacheva and Frenchwoman Selena Yanichevich.
For Svitolina, this will be the first quarter-final of a WTA 250 tournament since March 2022. Then Elina flew out at this stage at competitions in Monterrey.
