Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming has said that he still regrets not being able to buy former net bowler Varun Chakravarthy in the IPL auction 2023. Chakravarty was chennai's net bowler for a few years and troubled Chennai's batsmen including captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni). Playing his first match of the IPL (IPL 2023) at Chepauk, the Kolkata Knight Riders off-spinner played a key role in his team's victory.

Fleming on Varun Chakravarthy in PC said in the press conference after the match, 'We still regret losing Varun. He harassed us on the net for many years. Chakravarthy was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 2019.40 crore in 2020 and retained in the squad after being bought by KKR for Rs <> crore in <>. Talking about Sunday's defeat, Fleming said his team could not understand the situation well.

"We failed to read the situation. It was a tough match for the batsmen. There was a lot of bounce in the beginning in the wicket, which gradually ended. We are still learning to play in these new conditions," he said.


Meanwhile, KKR assistant coach Abhishek Nayar described Rinku Singh vs CSK as the ideal package for any team. "Rinku plays spin very well. Looking at his first-class season, Rinku is one of the three-four players who have been successful in the last two-three seasons. He knows how to play in these conditions. There are very challenging pitches in domestic cricket and I am happy that he has been so successful.
