Polissia Zhytomyr has won a ticket to the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) for the 2023/24 season.

This happened after the crushing victory of the Zhytomyr team over Kremen (5:0) in the home match of the 6th round of the Champion Group of the First League.

"Polissya" with 28 points topped the standings of the First League. Two rounds before the end of the championship, the Zhytomyr club certainly will not fall below the second position, which gives a direct ticket to the UPL.

Thus, for the first time in history, Zhytomyr residents will play in the elite division of the Ukrainian championship.

It should be noted that "Polissya" became the second team of the First League, which was promoted in class for the next season. Earlier, Obolon Kyiv entered the UPL ahead of schedule.

Recall that the first two teams of the First League go directly to the UPL, and the third and fourth places will play play-offs against the 13th and 14th clubs of the Premier League.
