Elina Svitolina
made it to the semifinals of the WTA 125 tournament in Saint-Malo, France.
In the quarterfinals, the 28-year-old native of Odesa beat the Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean in two sets - 6:3, 6:1.
The match lasted 59 minutes.
The Ukrainian served 5 times, made 3 double faults and used 5/8 break points.
For Svitolina, this is the third victory in a row.
Earlier, at the competition in Saint-Malo, she
beat
the representative of Greece, Despina Papamikhail, and
defeated
the Belgian Isalin Bonaventure.
It should be noted that Elina reached the semifinals of the WTA tournament for the first time since August 2021.
Before this, the last time the Ukrainians managed to do this was at the tournament in Chicago (USA).
In the semifinals, Svitolina will play American Sloane Stevens.
This match will take place on Saturday, May 6.
