Sehwag is the first batsman to score a triple century in Tests for India.

New Delhi:

No Indian fan can forget the triple century scored by

Virender Sehwag,

former opener of

the Indian

National Cricket Team, in the Test against

Pakistan

in Multan .

In the year 2004, the Indian team went on a tour of Pakistan.

On this tour, the Indian team played a series of first five ODIs, in which Team India had to face defeat by 3-2.

After this, there was a series of three Test matches between the two countries, in which India won 2-1.

The first Test match of this series was played in Multan, in which Sehwag scored a triple century.

Sehwag had shown from the very first session of the first day of the match that how he is going to play.

Sehwag was successful in scoring 76 runs till lunch on the first day. After lunch, when the team came to bat again, Sehwag again did what he was doing before lunch.

Sehwag continued his aggressive batting and completed his century in only 107 balls, during which he hit 14 fours and 4 sixes.

On the basis of Sehwag's explosive batting, Team India had scored 350 runs by the end of the first day's play.

On the second day too, Sehwag kept his cool and by lunch he had managed to score 292 runs.

Sachin Tendulkar had also reached his century by lunch on the second day.

Sehwag, who came back to bat after lunch on the second day, did what no Indian batsman had been able to do in the Test before.

Sehwag became the first batsman for India to score a triple century in Tests.

He had completed 300 runs in 364 balls.

During this, he had hit 38 fours and 6 sixes.

However, after this Sehwag was able to add 9 more runs and Mohammad Sami became the victim.

It was because of Sehwag that Team India declared the first innings by scoring 675 runs at the loss of 5 wickets.

While Sachin Tendulkar returned unbeaten after scoring 194 runs.

29th March- a special date for me.

Had the privilege and honor of becoming the first Indian to score a triple hundred in Test cricket.

The icing in the cake was the score against Pakistan in Multan.

Coincidentally 4 years later on the same date got out on 319 against South Africa.

Pakistan's first innings was reduced to 407 runs and after getting the follow-on from India, the hosts were able to score only 216 runs in the second innings.

In such a situation, Pakistan had to face a big defeat by an innings and 52 runs.

At the same time, Sehwag has narrated an interesting anecdote about this match.

Virender Sehwag, while narrating an interesting anecdote related to Multan Test in News18 Chaupal, has explained why Sachin Tendulkar had told him to hit him with the bat.

Sehwag said, "We were in Australia and I hit Simon Katich for a few sixes to get to 195 and I tried to hit him for another six to get to 200, but I got out. Unfortunately we These matches were lost. During the Multan Test, I hit 6-7 sixes to reach 100 runs. After that Sachin Tendulkar came to bat and he said that now if you hit one more six, I will bat you."

Sehwag further said, "I asked Sachin why so? Sachin told me that we lost the Test in Australia because you were hitting sixes. After that I did not hit a single six from 120 to 295. At 295 After reaching, I told Sachin that now I will complete 300 runs by hitting six. Then Sachin told me that are you crazy? No one has scored a triple century for India till date. I told Sachin that someone has scored 295 runs. Haven't even killed. After that Sachin was happier than me."
