If successful, it will be the first North African country to host World Cup matches.

There are several more group bids to host the 2030 World Cup: from Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Greece, as well as Uruguay, Argentina, Paraguay and Chile.

The venue for the 2030 World Cup will be chosen at the 74th FIFA Congress, which will take place in 2024.
