On the eve of her wedding, Shaheen was seen sweating it out in the nets to regain fitness.

Last year, during the T20 World Cup final, there was a knee injury.

Shaheen will lead the defending champions Lahore Qalandars in PSL-8.

Recently, the star bowler (Shaheen Afridi) while talking about his rehabilitation days told that at one point he was about to quit cricket, but he kept himself motivated by watching his old videos.

Shaheen Afridi said on YouTube, "There were times when I wanted to give up. I was only working on one muscle and it was not improving. Often during rehabilitation sessions, I would tell myself 'enough is enough'. Gone, I can't do it anymore'. But then I used to watch my bowling on YouTube and see how well I did and that motivated me and I told myself to 'push a little more'... It is disappointing for a fast bowler to be out of cricket due to."

The eighth season of PSL will start from February 13, in the first match of which Shaheen-led Lahore Qalandars will take on Multan Sultans.

Shaheen had given Lahore Qalandars their first PSL (Pakistan Super League) title last season.

Along with the captaincy, Shaheen played an important role with both the ball and the bat.
