When interviewed on the sidelines after the game, he was asked what it meant to him to break Chamberlain's record. Curry immediately replied, "It means I'm getting old." The three hosts laughed heartily.

Curry later stated seriously that it feels very special to break Chamberlain's record, because the results of this beast always make people feel unattainable, "But I am very lucky to have been in the Warriors for 14 years and have so many shots. I'm also grateful for scoring so many goals, so of course it's quite a record to celebrate."
