General Secretary of the Kyokushinkai Federation of Russia Serhiy Uvytskyi died in Donbas while participating in the

war

against Ukraine.

This was reported by the press service of the federation on Wednesday, February 1.

41-year-old Uvytskyi fought against Ukraine in the volunteer squad of the Russian Union of Martial Arts "Soyuz", where other representatives of this sport also joined.

In particular, Serhii Plekhanov (two-time Oyama Cup champion in Japan, Japanese K1 champion), Viktor Horn (World Cup champion, European champion), Vsevolod Mohirev (coach and head of one of the city's kyokushinkai organizations) and others.

Ramil Gabbasov (executive director of the RSBM and director of the All-Style Karate Federation) became the squad commander.

Uvytskyi was the silver medalist of the European Championship in 2010, the winner and multiple medalist of the championships of the aggressor country.

Earlier it was reported that the

famous Russian hockey player Oleksandr Podstavkin

died during the war in Ukraine.
