The Football Association of England (FA) opened an investigation into the possible manifestation of racism by the winger of the London "Chelsea" and the Ukrainian national team

Mykhailo Mudryk

.

This is reported by The Athletic.

The reason for the investigation was a video on the TikTok platform, published by a Ukrainian in the summer of last year.

In it, Mudryk performs the track "Freestyle" by the American rapper Lil Baby, released in 2017.

The word "nigga" is heard more than ten times in the song.

Mykhailo has already

apologized

for his act, and the video itself, which was viewed more than 200 thousand times, was deleted.

However, the Football Association of England still took up the study of this case.

Potentially, a Ukrainian may face punishment - a monetary fine or even disqualification.

Cases of punishment in England for similar incidents have already happened.

For example, in 2021, Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani

was suspended for three matches

for a foul on his Instagram, where he used the word "negrito".

The FA launched an investigation and interpreted the player's comment as racism.

The Uruguayan was also forced to pay a fine of 100,000 pounds.

  • Mudryk

    joined

Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk this winter, signing a contract with the Blues until the summer of 2030.

For his transfer, the "miners" received 70 million euros, another 30 million euros are provided in bonuses.

  • Mykhailo

    made his debut

for the "pensioners" in the match of the 21st round of the Premier League against "Liverpool".

    In this match, the Ukrainian

set the speed record of the

    English Premier League season.

  • In the next round of the championship, Mudryk and Co. will host Fulham in the London derby on February 3.

The game starts at 22:00 Kyiv time.
