Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder

transferred to English Leicester.

The Foxes announced the signing of the contract with the 22-year-old Brazilian on Twitter.

The English Premier League club leased the player until the end of the current season.

Welcome to Leicester, Tetê!

"I'm very happy to be here. I've already seen the stadium - it's great. I can imagine what the atmosphere will be like with a lot of fans in the stands. I hope they'll be happy with my game. I want to score a lot of goals and give assists," Tete commented on his transfer to "Leicester".

We will remind, in 2019, Tete moved to Shakhtar from the Brazilian Gremio for 15 million euros.

As part of the "Miners", the Brazilian winger played 108 matches, in which he scored 31 goals and provided 15 assists.

After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, he suspended his contract with Donetsk thanks to

the new transfer rule of FIFA

, which allowed legionnaires from the UPL, as well as the Russian championship, to unilaterally suspend their contracts with their clubs.

At the end of March 2022, Tete went on loan to the French "Lyon", for which he played 30 matches, scoring 8 goals and 10 assists.

Note that Tete's contract with the "miners" is valid until December 2023.

The Donetsk club risks losing a player for free, whose transfer value is estimated at 25 million euros.

It will be recalled that

"Shakhtar" will appeal the decision of the CAS

, which rejected the claim of the Donetsk club against FIFA in the case of compensation for damages caused by the organization's introduction of a special transfer rule in connection with the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine.
