On Sunday, January 29, the final match  of the

Australian Open-2023

took place  in the men's singles tournament.

In it, the Serbian Novak Djokovic defeated the Greek Stephanos Tsitsipas.

Djokovic dealt with his opponent in three sets, and the Serb won the last two games on a tie-break – 3:6, 6:7 (4:7), 6:7 (5:7).

For Novak, this is the tenth anniversary title at the Australian Open.

Previously, he won the Australian Open nine times (2008, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2019, 2020, 2021).

In addition, Djokovic has overtaken the Spaniard Rafael Nadal in terms of trophies won at the "Grand Slam" tournaments.

They now share this record with 22 Grand Slam titles each.

In the final, Belarusian Arina Sobolenko defeated the representative of Kazakhstan, Elena Rybakina.
