The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, continued the marathon of honesty, which should return international sports structures to true Olympic principles.

Zelensky addressed a letter to the presidents of the leading international sports federations.

The call is simple and fair: to decide on the decision of the International Olympic Committee, which, unfortunately, wants to open sports to the propaganda influence of a terrorist state.

The president announced this in an evening video message on January 28.

"If Russian athletes appear at international competitions, it's only a matter of time before they start justifying Russia's aggression and using the symbols of terror. And it's also only a matter of time before the Kremlin starts using the existing unprincipled "flexibility" of the International Olympic Committee to say as if the world agrees to make concessions to the aggressor," he noted.

Volodymyr Zelenskyi emphasized that it is impossible to ignore the fact that Russia continues its terror every day.

As a reminder, the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine will consider the issue of a possible boycott of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The reason was the likely return of Russian and Belarusian athletes to the international arena

until the end of the war that the Russian Federation is waging against Ukraine.

The NOC will discuss the issue of boycotting the Olympics on February 3 during an extraordinary general assembly.
