sarfaraz khan

Indian Cricket Team:

At present, the discussions of the batsman Sarfaraz Khan, who is arguably in the best form in the domestic cricket spectrum, are in full swing.

His journey so far has been quite interesting.

Despite consistent performance with the bat, Sarfaraz has not been able to get an entry in the Indian team and remains a 'future plan'.

The Indian team was announced for the first two Tests of the upcoming home series (India vs Australia Test) against Australia, in which Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav were selected but the name of 'run-machine' Sarfaraz was not.

Indian cricket fraternity was still thinking about this batsman being ignored and the selector of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has broken his silence on this matter.

When national selector Sreedharan Sharath was asked about the Indian batting unit (BCCI on Sarfaraz Khan) on Sportstar, he spoke on the subject of Sarfaraz's absence.

Talking about the current unit, Sharath praised the young stars along with veterans like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara.

He said, "Kohli is still the match winner. Cheteshwar Pujara brings stability with the bat. Rohit Sharma is an excellent captain and a brilliant batsman. Shreyas Iyer has been consistent. Shubman Gill and KL Rahul have real potential."

When asked about Sarfaraz, Sharath cited 'combination and balance' as the reason behind the young batsman's ouster.

He said, "He is definitely on our radar. He will get his due when the time comes. We have to consider things like combination and balance while picking the team."

The selection committee has announced the team only for the first two Tests (IND vs AUS Test) against Australia.

The team for the remaining two matches will be selected at the right time.

Sarfaraz may not have been selected for the first few matches, but he may get a chance in the remaining matches of the series (Border Gavaskar Trophy).
