The national team of Ukraine won another medal at the 2023
European Youth Olympic Winter Festival
(YOUF), which takes place in Italy.
Biathlete Oleksandra Merkushina became a bronze medalist in the individual race.
Already on the first shooting, Merkushina fired two inaccurate shots, after which she missed once on the next two firing lines.
At the last shooting, Oleksandra managed to close all the targets and in the end took the third place.
The German Julia Tannheimer won the race, the French Woldia Zalmas Paulin took the "silver".
Two more Ukrainians, Tetyana Tarasyuk and Valeriya Sheigas, finished in 18th and 37th places, respectively.
For Merkushina, the "bronze" in the individual race is the second medal at the EUOF-2023.
Earlier, she
won
"gold" in the sprint, which became Ukraine's first award of the highest category at these competitions.
