The European Football Union (

UEFA

) will keep Russia's indefinite suspension from international tournaments in force, as well as deprive the occupying country of the right to host the 2023 UEFA Super Cup.

On the eve of the meeting of the UEFA executive committee on Wednesday, 

January 25, 

the heads of the Russian Football Union (RFS) intended to discuss with the leadership of the continental organization the possibility of returning 

clubs and national teams of the aggressor country to international competitions.

However, according to the source, the disqualification of the Russian teams will not be lifted as long as the Russian Federation continues to wage war against Ukraine.

Russia will be deprived of the right to host the UEFA Super Cup 

- a match between the winners 

Champions League

and the Europa League was supposed to take place

 in August 2023 in Kazan.

Meanwhile, UEFA is reportedly planning to discuss the overall state of Russian football in preparation for when teams can return to European competition should the war end.
