IND vs NZ 2nd ODI: Indian captain Rohit Sharma

special things

  • I am happy with the batsmen: Rohit

  • Bowlers did better than last 6 matches

  • Our bowlers are top class now

New Delhi:

After taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series by defeating the visiting New Zealand by eight wickets in the second ODI in Raipur, Indian captain Rohit Sharma praised the bowlers, saying that the bowlers have performed very well in the last five matches.

Whatever we asked them to do, they did a great job, especially in India.

Rohit said that you can expect such performance from the bowlers on foreign soil, but now the quality of our bowlers has become high.

When we trained here last Friday night, the ball was swinging well.

And that was the reason why we wanted to challenge ourselves.

A score of 250 would have been challenging here.

Shami and Siraj wanted to do long spells, but I pointed out to them that there is a long Test series ahead.

The Indian captain said that I had to come amid his wish and I said that there are other bowlers here as well.

I am happy with the batsmen.

They are playing well and I have also maintained a similar attitude.

I am trying to change my game a bit now, trying to be aggressive against the bowlers and I think it is important to try and put pressure on the bowlers.

I know big scores have not come, but I am not too worried about it.

At the end of this year, the Indian team has to play in the 50-over World Cup on home soil.

Rohit said that the team wants to do all kinds of things (experiments) before going into this important competition.

He said, 'It was not a good day for the top-order batsmen.

India bowled well from the start and didn't give us chances to score runs.

The bowlers were getting help from the pitch.

Latham said, 'Unfortunately we were unable to build a partnership.

Every time you want to perform brilliantly but we could not adapt to the conditions.

Man of the match Shami said that he always focuses on maintaining the right line and length.

He said, 'I always try to bowl good rhythm and line and length.

Like watching the ball waving in the air.

I just try to use the seam properly.
