Ranji Trophy 2022-23:

 Even after the aggressive half-century innings of young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (66 not out in 60 balls), the Mumbai team won the Ranji Trophy Group B match against Tamil Nadu on Friday (Mumbai vs Tamil Nadu) remained away from winning by 74 runs.

Chasing 212 for victory, when Mumbai scored 137 for three in 24.2 overs, both the captains agreed to draw the match.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu batted in two sessions, playing ahead of the previous day's score of 380 runs for four wickets and adding 168 runs, the entire team was dismissed.


Pradosh Ranjan scored an unbeaten 107 for Tamil Nadu while Vijay Shankar contributed 103 runs in 174 balls.

Chasing 212 runs in one session for the win, Prithvi Shaw (15) and Jaiswal got Mumbai off to a brisk start.

However, L Vignesh gave Tamil Nadu the first success by dismissing Shaw (Prithvi Shaw).

Armaan Jaffer (29) then gave good support to Jaiswal but after Jaffer and captain Ajinkya Rahane (11 runs) were dismissed within five overs, the team thought it right to draw the match.

In the other group match, Andhra beat Hyderabad by 154 runs while Assam and Maharashtra ended in a draw.
