On Friday, January 6, the famous Italian

striker  Gianluca Vialli

died at the age of 58 .

During the last years of his life, Vialli battled pancreatic cancer, which he first encountered in 2017.

In December of last year, the disease worsened, due to which Gianluca left the coaching staff of the Italian national team.

Vialli is known for his performances for Sampdoria, Juventus and Chelsea.

He became the champion of Italy as part of "Sampdoria" and "Juventus", the winner of the English Cup with "Chelsea".

He also won the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup twice (with Sampdoria and Chelsea), triumphed with Juventus in the Champions League and the UEFA Cup.

He played 59 matches for the Italian national team and scored 16 goals.

Vialli is a bronze medalist of the 1990 World Cup as part of the "Azzurra Squad".

After finishing his playing career, Gianluca also worked as a coach.

He led "Chelsea", "Watford", and from 2019 he was Roberto Mancini's assistant in the Italian national team.
