In the latest FIFA rankings, World Cup winner Argentina has reached second place, while quarter-finalist Brazil still remains on top.

Lionel Messi's side rose one place after winning the title in Qatar on Sunday, while runners-up France are now third and Belgium have slipped to fourth.

Last weekend's World Cup final was decided by penalties and if a team had won the match after 90 minutes, it would have gone above Brazil according to FIFA rules.

Third-ranked Croatia has moved up from 12th to 7th in the tournament and fourth-ranked Morocco is now the top African nation at 11th.
