Ruslan Kozhakin and Bohdan Taranenko will miss the 2022 World Championship, which will be held in Colombia, due to violations of anti-doping rules.

This was announced on the official website of the International Weightlifting Federation.

It is noted that the presence of the prohibited substance trimetazidine was found in the samples of Kozhakhin and Taranenko.

Both Ukrainians were tested on October 27, 2022.

Kozhakin and Taranenko have been suspended from participating in international and national competitions pending the completion of an investigation by the ITA.

We will remind that in May Taranenko 

became the bronze medalist

of the Youth World Weightlifting Championship in Heraklion.

He competed in the weight category over 109 kg.
