At the beginning of March, the FIL eliminated the Russian Federation and Belarus due to the full-scale invasion of the Russian invaders into Ukraine, prohibiting the athletes of the aggressor countries from participating in international tournaments, as well as canceling all competitions under its auspices on the territory of both states.

However, in April, the FIL Court of Appeal

restored Russia's rights

and restored its status as a full member of the organization.

In response to this decision, Ukrainian skaters called for a boycott of tournaments under the auspices of the FIL.

Now another meeting of the FIL executive committee took place, at which a decision was made to remove the representatives of the Russian Federation indefinitely.

So the new season of the Luge World Cup will begin on December 3 with a stage in Austrian Innsbruck without Russian athletes.

Earlier it was reported that

Russia and Belarus were eliminated from the 2022 World Cup and other international judo tournaments
