Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra on Friday became the champion of the Diamond League 2022.
He topped the final of this prestigious competition held in Zurich with a throw of 88.44 meters.
With this, he became the first Indian to win a Diamond League Final.
His achievements include gold at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and the Diamond League trophy with gold at the Tokyo Olympics.
Chopra faced a tough competition from Tokyo 2020 silver medalist Jakub Vadlejch, who threw his best of 86.94m.
Germany's Julian Weber finished third with a best throw of 83.73m.

Wadlejcho took the lead with his first throw with an effort of 84.15m.
Neeraj's first throw was not valid and it was not a good start for the Indian athlete.
Wadlejcho then registered an 86m throw to increase his chances, but Neeraj took the lead in his second attempt, giving him the win.

He threw 88 meters in his third attempt, while Wadlejcho threw a foul in this round.
Wadlejcho improved his performance in his fourth attempt with a throw of 86.94m, while Neeraj threw a throw of 86.11m.
Neeraj threw 87m in his fifth attempt, meaning he had three throws to win the final.
He finished with a throw of 83.60m, but his last attempt was just a formality.
India's first Diamond League trophy had already been secured when all its competitors had finished the final round of throws without leaving them behind.
