Gold Medalist Sakshi Malik:

Indian female wrestler Sakshi Malik won the gold medal by beating Ana Gondinez Gonzales of Canada in the final of the Commonwealth Games 2022 here on Friday.

This is Sakshi's first gold medal in Commonwealth Games.

Earlier she has won silver and bronze medals in Commonwealth Games.

Olympic bronze medalist Sakshi Malik reached the final with a technical superiority 10-0 win over Cameroon's Berthe Emiliene Itane Ngole in the last four.

Sakshi also won the quarterfinals by technical superiority.

She defeated Kelsey Barnes of hosts England in this opening match.

Let me tell you that when Sakshi

Malik was being given the gold medal, the veteran wrestler had tears in her eyes.

Actually, when Sakshi reached the podium and saw her tricolor in the forefront, tears came out of her eyes.

Sakshi looked very emotional during the national anthem.

This patriotism of Sakshi has been very much liked by the Indian.

Sports lovers are praising Sakshi's style.

Sakshi Malik said after his victory that, I performed my best here and even after falling 4-0, I did not lose my confidence.

And later after falling behind in the beginning, I attacked and turned the dice in the ring.

On getting the first gold medal in the Commonwealth, Sakshi said that I am very happy.
