Birmingham:

On Thursday, India's para weightlifter Sudhir won the gold medal for India in men's heavyweight para powerlifting at the Commonwealth Games being played in Birmingham.

Sudhir, who was a bronze medalist in the Para Asian Games in the year 2018, lifted 208 kg in his first attempt, then in the second attempt he lifted 213 kg and broke the Games record by collecting 134.5 points.

Sudhir's third attempt failed, but it didn't matter as he had already secured the gold medal.

And after winning the medal, this lifter said in a special conversation with NDTV that he is not happy with his performance.

He said that this gold medal is the biggest medal of his career.

I have won medals before, but this is my biggest achievement so far.

And all the credit goes to my coaches JP Singh, Sai and PC, who have supported me a lot.

This is not the best performance of your life.

And you did not look happy, Sudhir said that it is true that this is not the best performance of my career, but I am happy for the gold medal.

My performance was not good, but we will improve it in the upcoming competitions.

On the question of his role model, Sudhir said that I believe in Cristiano Ronaldo and I consider Virender Sehwag as a good player.

Do you follow Sehwag, but Sudhir said that I follow him in cricket.

When Sehwag used to play cricket, I used to watch, but now I have stopped watching cricket.

Along with Sudhir, his coach also said that we were confident of winning the medal and we had already told about it.

He said that our preparation for the competition was very good and we were 100% sure that we would not only win medals but also gold medals.
