BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced the schedule of the tournament to be played in the T20 format from August 27 to September 11 in Dubai and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates on Twitter.

It is quite likely that most of the members of the Indian team selected for the Asia Cup will be in the T20 World Cup team.

As per the schedule, India is in Group A with Pakistan and the qualifier team (to be decided) in which India and Pakistan will face on August 28.

The Indian team will play the third team qualifier of the group on August 31, while the Pakistan team will play against the qualifier on September 2.

Teams of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are in Group B.

The top two teams each from both the groups will qualify for the Super Four stage.

It is highly likely that India and Pakistan teams from Group A will qualify for the Super Four, in which both the teams can face each other again on September 4.

The top two teams from the Super Four stage will qualify for the final to be played on September 11.
