Virat Kohli had predicted

New Delhi:

So far, if any batsman has come to Sachin Tendulkar's Records, then it is Virat Kohli.

After Tendulkar, Kohli has the most number of 20 international hundreds in all formats.

If you talk about comparison with the great Sachin Tendulkar, then the first name comes of Virat Kohli.

After all, he is the complete and competitive batsman of India after Sachin.

In the current era, Kohli is the only batsman who can go ahead of Sachin in terms of records.

At present, with 43 ODI centuries, he is 6 centuries away from the record of Sachin Tendulkar.

In the year 2012, when Kohli made his debut for India at the age of 19, no one thought that he would reach such heights.

By 2013, Kohli had become the star of Team India, who was going to rule world cricket for the next 7 years.

But even when Kohli was young, he believed that he would be able to match Tendulkar's batting record.

Yes you heard it right.

Ashwin Krishnan, head of sports marketing for famous sunglasses brand 'Oakley', recalls his meeting with young Virat many years ago.

Where Kohli himself had said that he would 'catch' Sachin Tendulkar in ODI cricket.

Krishnan told Jamie Alter on his chat show, The Alternate View, "Virat Kohli's ODI record is phenomenal, it's an understatement.

And he is getting close to Sachin's record - whether he gets there or not, it doesn't matter.

Let me tell you a little story.

In 2013, we went to LA to sign Virat for Oakley.

And we were sitting there.

Virat had come with his manager Bunty and I had come from Mumbai.

I was doing the Champions League at that time and just went to sign him.

And there was sitting, a 24-year-old with 9 ODI hundreds to his name and he said, "I will catch paaji (Sachin) in one-dayers.

Paaji had 49 centuries."

Looking at Kohli's current form, Krishnan emphasized that the former captain's form is not bad, but his mind is not in the right place at the moment.

Krishnan said that a player of Kohli's ability can never be out of form and once he recovers, then runs will automatically come off his bat.
