Neeraj Chopra has tweeted and thanked his fans for their full support and also told about his injury by tweeting.

Neeraj wrote in the post, 'Hello everyone, I have to tell you all with great sadness that I will not be able to participate in this time's Commonwealth Games.

I was feeling some discomfort due to the strain I suffered during the fourth throw of the World Championship and on examination here in the USA, it was found to be a minor injury, for which I was advised a few weeks of rehabilitation Has been.'

Taking his point forward, the star veteran wrote, 'I regret that I will not be able to represent the country in Birmingham.

For the time being, my entire focus will be on my rehabilitation so that I will try to get back on the field as soon as possible.

I want to thank all of you for the love and respect I have received from all the countrymen in the last few days.

I hope that all of you will continue to support all the players of our country in the Commonwealth Games by joining me like this.

Let us inform that Neeraj, who won gold for India in Tokyo, won the silver medal in his fourth attempt at the World Championships with a throw of 88.13 meters.

The 24-year-old became the second Indian athlete to win a medal at the World Championships.

Prior to her, Anju Bobby George won a bronze medal in the long jump at the 2003 World Championships.
