Neeraj Chopra: Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian man to win a medal at the World Athletics Championships, winning a silver medal in the javelin throw with a throw of 88.13m.

The only medal for India at the World Championships was the bronze in the long jump by Anju Bobby George in Paris in 2003 .

Chopra, who started with a foul, made a brilliant comeback in the second attempt 82.

39, 86 in the third.

37 and 88 in the fourth attempt.

Throw a throw of 13 meters.

Especially in the fourth attempt, Neeraj scored 88.

Throwing the javelin 13 meters away, due to which he was successful in getting the silver medal in the World Athletics Championship.

Grenada's Anderson Peters, on the other hand, scored 90.

Won the gold medal with 46 meters while Yakub Valdesh of Czech Republic got the bronze medal.

Rohit Yadav of India 78.

He finished 10th with a best throw of 72m.

Chopra won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics last year and is the first Indian after shooter Abhinav Bindra to win an individual Olympic gold.

Peters 90.

Started with 21 meters and followed it with 90.

46 , 87 .

21, 88.11, 85 .

Throw 83 meters.

It was only after five attempts that his gold was assured but he made the sixth throw 90 .

He threw 54 meters which was his best throw.



Chopra started in Group A qualification and scored 88.

A throw of 39 meters was thrown which was the third best throw of his career.

Defending champion Peters made 89 in Group B.

He secured the first position with a throw of 91 meters.
