Manchester United chiefs are preparing to lose striker Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

The Portuguese star has missed the last three days of pre-season training as he insists United will listen to offers for him.

United were initially confident Ronaldo would still be with them next season.

But now, according to

The Sun

, the situation has changed radically and the Portuguese star is expected to leave Old Trafford.

The club's bosses are said to have now realized they cannot hold him against his will and want to avoid a long and drawn-out battle.

United's new boss Erik ten Hag has also admitted that Ronaldo will leave, despite hoping to work with the 37-year-old this season.

Despite his age, the Portuguese forward still believes he can win trophies at the highest level, but not with United.
