Cristiano Ronaldo was outstanding under Jose Mourinho, with the two Portuguese icons spending three years working together at Real Madrid.

According to Transfermarkt, no player in history has scored more goals for Mourinho than Ronaldo.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner scored 168 goals in 164 games for the 'Special One', a record that is simply absurd.

But statistics aside, Ronaldo and Mourinho ultimately did not have a good working relationship at Los Blancos and things got a little ugly.

That was in 2013 after a dispute when they got a win – yes, a win – over Valencia.

There was a real feud between the duo in 2013.

Mourinho had returned to Chelsea after leaving Real Madrid and the two clubs were to meet in a friendly that was like a final.

Mourinho decided to increase the animosity towards his compatriot in a press conference.

"I was a coach for the first time in 2000 but, before that, I was an assistant at big clubs and with big coaches and coaching the best players in the world, so when I was 30 years old and I was Ronaldo's coach , not this [Cristiano], the real, Brazilian Ronaldo," Mourinho told ESPN.

But Ronaldo, as he has done throughout his career, responded to Mourinho's plays with a masterful strike down the pitch.

He got his revenge on his former manager by scoring twice in Real Madrid's 3-1 win.

Ronaldo's first goal was a stunning free-kick, while the second was a game-ending header.

Petr Cech in the Chelsea goal could do absolutely nothing in these shots.
