Erik ten Hag is working with his Manchester United players ahead of pre-season games as he looks to spread his ideas.

United returned to pre-season training last Monday as the club prepare ahead of their tours of Thailand and Australia.

With games against Liverpool, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa on the horizon.

All eyes will be firmly on Ten Hag's every move as he looks to implement into his new team a passing style of play that made his former side Ajax one of the most prominent sides in football. European.

His style of play will demand a lot from the players and he seems to be putting the pace on the club's training ground already.

A video has emerged showing Ten Hag putting the team through a passing drill, during which Ten Hag and his coaching staff were often heard shouting 'right foot, left foot' after each pass and he also told the players to him that they are 'making a lot of mistakes'.

Comparisons have already been made with Ten Hag's Ajax side, as another video shows the Dutch side doing the same drill, but with much better accuracy and fluency.

Notice how he's been taking them on one-touch, quick-passing football?

Ten Hag is trying to bring what made it successful in Amsterdam to Manchester.

But it will take time for the players to get used to the new regime.

In a bid to speed up the process, Ten Hag is targeting some of the players he coached during his time as Ajax boss.

He is interested in bringing in centre-back Lisandro Martinez and winger Antony from his former club.

Having already brought in Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord, the club are edging closer to deals.

Free agent Christian Eriksen has verbally agreed a deal to join the club.

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is seen as an important target as the coach sees him as the centerpiece of his plans at the Old Trafford club.

Ten Hag coached De Jong when the pair spent time together at Ajax.

However, there are doubts over the future of star Cristiano Ronaldo after the club legend told United of his desire for a move away from Old Trafford.

The Portuguese has one year left on his current contract.

This is what Erik ten Hag is trying to do at Man Utd.

Watch how his Ajax teams do it and spot the difference.

One reason why he wants a few of his former players.

The message from United remains unchanged, they are adamant the Portuguese is not for sale and expect him to be with the club for the new season.

Ronaldo has missed two consecutive days of training, with the squad leaving for the tournament on Friday, it remains to be seen if he will join the club.
