ENG vs IND 5th Test: Virat Kohli missed the first innings

special things

  • There was no Virat Darshan!

  • When will you make a century... when will you make it?

  • Only 11 runs could be scored in the first innings.

New Delhi:

On the first day of the last and fifth Test of the unfinished Test series against England, which started in Birmingham on Friday, if any Indian batsman had the highest expectations, it was Virat Kohli.

The reason was the manner in which Virat batted in the four-day practice match.

And as the visuals of his sots using the steps came from England, it seemed that he is no longer far from Kohli's reach, which his fans have been waiting for since December 2019.

This is the same time, since which Virat has not scored a century yet.

Be it ODI or Test match.

In Birmingham too, Virat's batting came quickly as Gill and Pujara soon returned to the pavilion.

Kohli also gave a good signal by scoring 11 runs from 4 fours during the 46-ball stop on the pitch, but when the game resumed after rain, Kohli was put-on while trying to left a ball from Matty Potts.

And with this the dream of a big innings of his fans was shattered.

Also, from December 2019 till now, Virat's condition in Test cricket has worsened.

And it got worse in terms of average, which is almost half of his career overall average (54.97) over this period.

In the last two and a half years after the last century, Kohli has scored 6 fifties in 31 innings of 18 Test matches in Tests.

His best has been 79, but during this time his average has come down to 27.48.

Overall, the burden on Virat's head is increasing.

It is a matter of relief that he does not have to play Test cricket in the next few months.

But if they do not improve their average from here, then the questions will keep on increasing.

And this will happen only when big innings come out of his bat.
