The Mirror,

Patrice Evra, the former Manchester United defender, spoke about the failure of Antonio Contes's transfer to the Red Devils.

The Frenchman revealed that someone inside the English club saw the Italian coach as a person who would not feel the club, and preferred to take Ralf Rangnick in his place.

"I am heartbroken to see Conten at Tottenham.

"He, Klopp and Guardiola are the best in the world and we could have had him at Manchester United, but someone decided he did not have the 'United spirit'."

"I was very disappointed because he would have done well at United, just look at what he is doing at Tottenham, with the same players."

"He is a genius, everyone at Juventus told me that," said Evra.
