Enzo Maresca was Parma's coach in Serie B this season, but is reportedly returning to Manchester City as Pep Guardiola's assistant coach.

The 42-year-old was detached from the role of assistant to lead the Manchester City U-23 team, then took on the role of coach at Parma in the summer of 2021.

However, this lasted only 14 games before being downloaded in November 2021.

Now - Sky Sport Italia reports that Maresca will return to Manchester City as Guardiola's assistant coach, replacing Juanma Lillo.

He had spent most of his leading career in the supporting role at Ascoli for Fulvio Fiori, Sevilla under Vincenzo Montella and Joaquin Caparros, then for 64 games at West Ham United with Manuel Pellegrini.

Maresca is also known for his transitions as a player, representing teams such as West Bromwich Albion, Juventus, Bologna, Fiorentina, Sevilla, Olympiacos, Malaga, Sampdoria and Palermo before retiring in 2017. /
