New information regarding the case of Byron Castillo shakes once again the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Last May, the MARCA newspaper exclusively published one of the documents that could leave Ecuador without a place in the World Cup after the complaint of the Chilean national team, in which it was written that Byron Castillo, the player who defends the colors of Ecuador, is really Colombian .

A month later, the newspaper had access to new original documents that would be the best proof to verify that the footballer is indeed Colombian.

FIFA already has them in its possession.

Chile's lawyer, Eduardo Carlezzo, gave a press conference on Tuesday to present the new investigations.

Among all the two stand out: the baptism certificate and the Byron Castillo health registration report.

The document issued on June 1, 2022, the birth certificate reflects that the player was baptized on December 25, 1996 in the Diocese of Tumaco (Narino, Colombia).

In addition, the document in question includes the baptismal ceremony.

The second relevant document corresponds to the registration of Byron Castillo in the Colombian Public Health.

This official document that MARCA has reveals the following information: that Byron Castillo is within the "Database of Members of the Social Insurance System in Health" within the Department of Narino, in the municipality of Tumaco.

According to the lawyers of the Chilean Football Federation, the footballer who is currently with Ecuador "enjoys the benefits and guarantees of being a Colombian citizen".

For its part, the Ecuadorian national team has already given an answer to FIFA before the final decision is known, which will be on June 10.

There are two days left when FIFA's decision will be known.

Chile, but also Italy hope for a place in the 2022 Qatar World Cup if Ecuador is excluded.
