Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted that his players are declining after losing for the fourth time in their last five Premier League games.

Arsenal took the third loss in a row, being defeated on the trip to Southampton with the result 1-0.

The visitors remained frustrated after 76 percent of possession and 23 attempts on goal.

Arteta spoke after the match, admitting that the team is declining and they do not know how to react.

"The players are really desperate and they are declining because they can't find the right answer - other than what we can do better around the area," Arteta initially said.

"And this is the disappointment.

"When someone is better, he shakes hands and you have to be critical of yourself."

"But, apart from the 25 minutes against Crystal Palace and some periods against Brighton in the first half, it is very difficult to explain and accept," concluded the Gunners coach.
