To promote the development of women's football, UEFA, in the framework of licensing for European competitions for the 2023/24 season, has set as a condition for every club that wants to play, to have their own women's team.

UEFA's new regulation on licensing and financial sustainability was adopted last week.

Failure to follow the rules by the clubs will not be punished with expulsion from European competitions, but with fines, but their amounts have not yet been determined.

This turns out to be a big problem for our clubs, as almost all clubs in the BKT Super League of Kosovo do not have a women's team.

The only clubs that parade in the Super League and have a women's team are Dukagjini i Klina and Malisheva.

Major clubs such as Prishtina, Drita, Gjilan, Balkan and Llapi do not have a women team included in the club.

These clubs if they want to compete in European competitions after two years, will have to have a women's team.

Women's First League

In Kosovo, women's football is on the rise, with 13 teams in the First League.

Mitrovica, Hajvalia, Kosova VR are the most organized clubs in this level of competition where these three are fighting for the title.

Also, within the competitions in FFK, is part of the U17 League, where it counts 18 teams divided into two groups.
