Berat Gjimshiti will continue to stay at Atalanta, at least for another four years.

The Albanian defender is one of the best in his position in Serie A where he has excelled in recent years with the black club.

In recent months, the media in Italy also reported on an Inter interest in the Albanian from the Presevo Valley, but Atalanta has decided to arm their star.

The 29-year-old had a contract with Atalanta until 2023, but has extended the contract for another three years.

It was Gjimshiti himself who announced that he had extended the agreement with Atalanta until 2026.

"I am very happy and proud to have extended my contract with Atalanta.

"I can not wait to have even more successful moments in this club", the Albanian star wrote on his Instagram profile.

Gjimshiti has been part of Atalanta since January 2016, until he spent one season on loan at Avellino in Serie B and another at Benevento in Serie A.

The Albanian representative has played 152 official matches with Atalanta where he has scored six goals and assisted in six others.
