The US military today carried out the first drop of humanitarian aid from an aircraft into Gaza, two US officials said, Reuters reported.

Officials said the delivery was made by three C-130 aircraft.

More than 35,000 food rations were dropped.

The White House said airlifts would continue and the move was backed by Israel.
