There was brainstorming in the CEC meeting held on the night of 29 February.

It is known that earlier on February 29, a meeting of BJP's Central Election Committee (CEC) was held in the capital Delhi.

In this meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, party general secretary BL Santosh, apart from CMs, state presidents, in-charges, co-in-charges and election in-charges of BJP ruled states were present.

This meeting lasted for about 4 hours from 11 pm to 3:15 am.

In this meeting, 155 Lok Sabha seats from 17 states were discussed.

Bihar, Maharashtra were not discussed in the first meeting of CEC

There was no discussion on states like Bihar and Maharashtra in the first meeting of CEC.

There is a coalition government in both the states, which includes Janata Dal (United) and Hindustani Awam Morcha (Bihar), Shiv Sena (Shinde) and Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar).

There is a possibility of an alliance between BJP and Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh.

In Uttar Pradesh, the BJP is likely to leave six seats for its allies, including Jayant Singh-led Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD).

RLD has not yet formally joined the BJP-led alliance.

Sources said that although the CEC has considered a large number of seats, not all of their names will be in the first list.

Election dates will also be announced in this month

If sources associated with BJP are to be believed, the party can announce the names of candidates for 50 percent of the Lok Sabha seats by March 10.

The party had done the same in the 2019 elections also.

Last time, a few weeks before the announcement of Lok Sabha election dates, BJP had announced the names of candidates for 164 seats on March 21.

The Election Commission can also announce the dates of Lok Sabha elections in this month.
