New Delhi :

BJP has released the first list of candidates for Lok Sabha Election 2024.

The party has announced the names of candidates for five of the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi.

However, the party has surprisingly canceled the tickets of four sitting MPs.

Bansuri Swaraj, daughter of former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, has been made a candidate from New Delhi Lok Sabha seat.

Candidates have not been announced for East Delhi and North West Delhi Lok Sabha seats.

There are seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi and in the last elections, BJP had captured all the seats of Delhi.

The party has nominated Bansuri Swaraj, daughter of former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj, in place of Union Minister Meenakshi Lekhi from New Delhi, Ramveer Singh Bidhuri in place of Ramesh Bidhuri from South Delhi, Praveen Khandelwal in place of former Union Minister Harsh Vardhan from Chandni Chowk, Pravesh Verma from West Delhi. In place of Kamaljit Sehrawat, the party has made it its candidate.

Former Delhi unit president of BJP Manoj Tiwari has once again been made a candidate from North East Delhi.

Bansuri Swaraj is an eminent lawyer and last year the BJP appointed her as the co-convenor of the BJP Delhi legal cell.

BJP's first list of 195 candidates

BJP has set a target of winning 370 seats on its own in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Working towards its goal, the party has announced the names of 195 candidates even before the announcement of election dates.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will contest elections from Varanasi for the third time and Home Minister Amit Shah has once again been fielded from Gandhinagar in Gujarat.
