The command of the NATO air forces showed the moment of interception of Russian planes over the Baltic.

Video and photo appeared on the page of PS NATO in X (Twitter).

The incidents took place on February 29 in international airspace north of Poland.

"See what it looks like when 2 French Mirage 2000-5s intercept two Russian SU-30-M jets over the Baltic Sea," the caption to the video reads.

It is noted that immediately after that, French fighter jets received a new task, where they also intercepted a Russian An-72 flying in international airspace north of Poland.

It should be noted that French military aircraft are deployed in some NATO member countries as part of the mission called "NATO Air Police", the purpose of which is to maintain the security of the Alliance's airspace.

These missions were intensified after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

It will be recalled that earlier the ex-ambassador of Ukraine to the USA (2015-2019) Valery Chalyi suggested that Russia seeks to attack one of the NATO countries in order to show the inability of the Alliance to react quickly.

And this state can become Estonia.
