On March 1, the Main Center of Special Control registered an earthquake in the Poltava region.

This is stated on the department's website. 

The earthquake occurred at 02:22 Kyiv time with a magnitude of 3.6 on the Richter scale. 

The epicenter of the earthquake is located in the Reshetyliv district of the Poltava region, west of the city of Poltava, at a depth of 10 km.

Earthquakes of similar strength from the territory of the Poltava region have been registered before.

Earthquakes are classified as barely perceptible.

Oscillations are felt only by individual people who are in a calm state indoors, especially on the upper floors.

Earthquakes of similar strength from the territory of the Poltava region were registered earlier, in particular, the last of them on July 23, June 8, May 26, and January 14, 2023 with magnitudes of 2.6, 3.7, 3.5, and 2.7.

We will remind that earlier it was reported that the National Academy of Sciences believes that sooner or later

earthquakes

will affect the entire territory of Ukraine.

The most powerful shocks with an intensity of 8 points on the Richter scale are possible in the southwest of Odesa region.
