Building an economic model of the city is one of the main directions of the Mariupol Reborn plan.

This is the first such experience in Ukraine.

After all, more than 30 experts from European cities were involved in the development of the vision.

During the workshop, three working groups were formed in the areas of industry and industry;

transport connection, logistics and port development;

knowledge hub is a sector responsible for the development of science and innovation.

They discussed the ways of development of all three areas, the factors affecting it and possible projects.

"We held 15 meetings with the residents of Mariupol regarding the revival of the city.

Their request is: housing, security and jobs with decent pay.

That is why we are engaged in the development of the economic vision of Mariupol.

After all, it is she who will give answers to the question of where and with whom the people of Mariupol can work.

We plan to dedicate the year 2024 to the preparation for the revival of our city," said the mayor of Mariupol, Vadym Boychenko.

A reconstruction plan is being developed with a view to implementation by 2040.

The finalized vision is open for discussion with experts and residents of Mariupol.

In particular, Ukrainian business is involved in its formation.

"Rinat Akhmetov's businesses have always been among the largest taxpayers in Ukraine.

Companies belonging to Metinvest and SCM holdings played a decisive role in the economy of Mariupol.

If we speak in the language of numbers, over the past 10 years, this is about 1 billion hryvnias of investments in the city.

Including, in the reconstruction after the destruction of houses, schools, and social infrastructure after the Russian shelling in 2014.

And we will continue to do this after the de-occupation of Mariupol.

We see the economy of the revived city as "green" and multi-industry," explains Oleksandr Vyshnyakov, director of Mariupol.Reborn NGO, head of community development at Metinvest Holding.

Workshop participants emphasize that the main task is the return of Mariupol residents to the city after de-occupation.

Therefore, it is important to provide people with jobs and a decent standard of living.

And it is necessary to work on this now in order to revive Mariupol as soon as possible, when it will be released.

We will remind you that the Mariupol Reborn Project is being implemented by the Mariupol City Council with the investment support of SCM Rinat Akhmetov.
