In Great Britain, intelligence has exposed a group of people who

were spying

for Russia, gathering intelligence.

It is about four men and two women, whom the law enforcement officers accuse of conspiring to espionage and "gather information intended to be directly or indirectly useful to the enemy."

The police said that all the suspects are from Bulgaria and were engaged in gathering information in the period from August 2020 to February 2023.

Scotland Yard noted that the information was collected for the purpose of "prejudicing the security and interests of the state."

Recently, the sixth defendant, Bulgarian citizen Tikhomir Ivanov Ivanchev, was officially charged with espionage for the Russian Federation.

The man vaccinated in west London and was arrested on February 7 as part of an ongoing investigation led by the Met's Counter-Terrorism Command.

The 37-year-old suspect is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

The publication also notes that he was released on bail, and already on Tuesday he was charged.

"A sixth suspect has been identified and arrested as a result of inquiries following five previous arrests in this investigation and has been charged in conjunction with the Crown Prosecution Service," said Dominic Murphy, who heads the counter-terrorism unit.

A further three men and two women are accused of gathering information which could be used by the enemy between August 2020 and February 2023 and have previously appeared at the Old Bailey.

46-year-old Orlin Rusev, 42-year-old Bizer Djambazov, 32-year-old Katrin Ivanova, 32-year-old Ivan Stoyanov and 29-year-old Vanya Gaberova are accused.

The trial of the accused will begin in October and last four months.
