The US Central Command stated in a post on the “X” platform that it destroyed a drone over the Red Sea.

She added that all weapons "pose an imminent threat to commercial ships and US Navy ships in the region."

The Yemeni Houthi group has been launching missiles and drones loaded with explosive materials at commercial ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, since last November 19, in protest against the violent Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip.

Last week, the Houthis sent official notices to shipping officials and insurance companies, regarding what they described as “banning ships linked to Israel, the United States, and Britain from sailing in waters near the region.”

The group also threatened that it would bring submarines into service in order to carry out its attacks in the Red Sea, raising concerns about targeting Internet lines that pass through it.
